Our Journey

After moving to SoCal almost 10 years ago, we spent years daydreaming about weekend escapes to Palm Springs and Joshua Tree—never giving a second thought to things like how cold the desert can get, or the fact that maybe buying a 2WD car wasn’t the smartest choice for hitting the back roads so we started with National Parks & paved roads. But those early trips sparked something we didn’t even know was waiting to be lit: a passion for hiking, overlanding, and discovering the wild corners of the desert Southwest.

Once we got over the reality that snakes and scorpions really are out there where the wild things roam (and that the “Wild West” earned its name for a reason), we learned something important: the desert can be a scary place at first! BUT the more you know, the less scary it gets. Understanding the land, the wildlife, the weather, and the roads didn’t just make us feel safer… it made us fall even more in love with exploring it.

We knew we wanted to up our game. We were tired of saying, “I wonder where that road goes,” every time an offshoot branched away from the main trail. After many spirited debates with my father-in-law, we finally bought a Jeep, now proudly parked between the Tundra, Tacoma, and Land Cruiser at every family gathering. We downloaded OnX Offroad, and haven’t looked back since.

These days, we just point and shout, “I want to go over there!” and see how far the Jeep can take us (spoiler: it’s pretty far). That spirit has led us through countless trips to some of the most beautifully unique landscapes in the desert Southwest. California may be our home base and forever favorite, but Utah has a special way of stealing our hearts a little more every time we cross the border. We’ve absolutely had those Tuesday-night moments at 8pm where one of us says, “Should we just drive to Utah right now? We can get there by 2am.”

And honestly… sometimes we go.

The Desert Supply was born from that feeling—of chasing trails, sunsets, sandstone canyons, and curiosity. This is your ticket to the desert: the must-see hot spots, the best-kept secrets, the lazy guide, the photography guide, the true trail stats, the excitement, the fun, and all the memories that come from saying yes to adventure.
